WORKSHOP SERIES FOR QUEER POETS

entry picture
Dominic Berry (pictured), one of Manchester Contact Theatre's 'at home' artists, is now working on a follow-up to his performance poetry club night 'Lovely Fruit Salad', for the Get Bent event at the Contact on September 1st.

Dominic is looking for a small group of poets, who identify as queer, who'd like to develop their poetry into material for a club setting. Together, we'll write new material and explore methods of making poetry come alive at night!

The workshops are free and will be every Thursday evening at Contact (time to be confirmed), starting on Thursday 9th August. It is important that anyone who applies is able to commit to all four of these sessions and the performance on 1st September.

Anyone interested needs to submit just one poem, (no more than one page of A4, no more than 5 minutes long) on any subject to Dominic, along with an e-mail address they can be contacted on. Dominic will then get in touch with all applicants to let them know whether they'll be on this course.

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for poets to work on verse outside the usual performance poetry circuit, and explore a number of different techniques. The deadline for applicants is Friday, August 3rd at .
