Hopefully get there alive and say

What a good drive it’s been

And no problems getting gasoline

So I left at the break of day,

Let the gps tell me the way

Radio playing on I-35,

Music so good it was almost live

Country, Gospel, whatever I choose even a station playin’ the blues

Made a few stops then back on track even had time to stop for a snack

Arkansas a rest area and I make a final stop for a comfort break

Where me and a biker did regale to each other our travellin’ tale

Back to our vehicles we were bound, on his gloves a message was found

Left there by the birds of the air

He looked to the sky and said these words “Oh great, thank you birds”.

Journey continued, Little Rock came into sight

Journey’s end for today, time to stop for the night

Time to relax and write an ode,

And tomorrow once more the open road
