53) I’d arrived in Terre Haute to find,

The clocks in Little Rock were an hour behind

Goin’ back’ll take eight hours, but it’ll seem like seven

An’ I enjoy a little piece of heaven

Cos’ before I’ve risen showered and bin’ fed

I’ll have had the luxury of, an extra hour in bed.

54) Roadwork’s, speed limit 55 the sign endorsed

Adding that it was camera enforced

I worked hard all year for my trip over here

So I’ll obey it till it’s past

Cos' I ain’t wastin’ 375 bucks by goin’ too fast

55) I thought I’d give the gps a rest

And put my map reading skills to the test

Not fearing the worst, things went good at first

Through Illinois, and on, through Missouri I was gone

Goin’ great, drivin’ through state after state

But North of West Memphis I got confused

So the gps I used

No need to worry, better safe than sorry

But maybe one day on an American roam

I’ll know the roads here, like I know them back home

56) On a K Love Radio news spot

Came news of a crocodile left in a parking lot

People scared, to go near it no one dared

Till it was lassoed and taken away,

And the people carried on with their day

The presenter asked

“how did they lasso it and make the people happy?”

I thought “Simple, they made it snappy”
