11.04.14: 57) Clear sky an’ sun tell,

Me today is gonna be hot as hell

Country music on the radio renditioning,

An’ I’ve got air conditioning

But the sun maybe blindin’ cos when I look I find

I’ve left my sunglasses behind

58) Yesterday I tried but in vain, I used the gps again

But I’ll not be beat, not admit defeat

Cos’ I think the route I know

I’m gonna give it another go

First a quick task, simple directions to ask

Then Interstate 30 I’m travelin’ down

Headin’ South out of Little Rock town

Long way to go but I can always listen to the radio

Stop for coffee but it hurt, when I spilled some down my shirt

Should have done things right, made sure the lid was on good an’ tight

Texakarns approaching, now it’s behind

Lookin’ at the signs an’ I find

Journeys goin’ well so far, I’m in the state of the Lone Star

Goin’ good, the engine sings,

I’m past Mount Pleasant and Sulphur Springs

Son Dallas skyline is ahead,

Programme’s theme tune running through my head

Take it steady as I drive, look for the sign I-35

Found it without fear, now its south from here

Radio stations quite a range, I though time for a change

Found another and to my delight

From Phantom of the Opera they were playing, Music of the Night

Then another favourite it sure was neat

The gigue for Gustav  Holsts St Paul’s suite

Roadwork’s, drivers pullin’ off, go through ‘em they won’t

Do they know something I don’t?

Follow ‘em with my little; load

Follow ‘em down the service road

Back on I-35 at last, still don’t want to go too fast

Speed limit 55 another sign endorsed, again adding camera enforced

An’ there’s still one thing I’m not needin’

An that’s to pay 375 bucks for being caught speeding

Now in Austin, the patron saint of travellers I’ll bless

For getting me here without usin’ my gps.

59) He had an itchy rash on his arm, I said

"Try some soothing balm"

He said “It’ll make it smart, no don’t you start”

Cos’ he wouldn’t have liked it if I’d have said

“Try rubbin it on your head”.

I got the idea for 55 when I spilt the coffee, it's based on an old one liner

60) To text my wife I did enthuse, with my latest travelin’ news

Saying “navigate without the gps, yes |I can”

She texted back saying “well done that man”.

61) Now back in Austin it’s my intent, to take in another event

Theme of money should be funny

To get there don’t know how, gps comin’ out now

So all should understand, even Road Warriors need a helpin’ hand
