Penny Broadhurst at Wicked words
The Queen of DIY pop returns to her spoken word
roots...
Penny’s poetry inhabits the space between the urban ramblings of The Streets
and the strange universes inhabited by John Cooper Clarke. Expect a show
that casts a steely eye over important contemporary matters such as frozen
food, Primark and call centres, with an infectious zest and humour Her
work is also dusted with more than its fair share of Doctor Who references.
"There's fire in Broadhurst's belly and bile in her brain, while her
sparky spoken witticisms rock and roar. You can't mosh to poetry, but if
you could, then you'd mosh to this" NME

It's
shameful that wicked words haven't booked Penny before but hopefully this event
will make amends....
Plus Open Mic - book early to avoid
disappointment
