Boundless on opening night from founder Daniel Garcia Ordaz
23.04.2015 – 110) Sun poets last night,
As usual a great delight
Perfect end to the day,
Listenin’ to what other poets had to say
An’ the guy who said it was his first time
In front of the mic doin’ his rhyme
He made a start reciting from the heart
He was good, and what’s more
I couldn’t believe he’d not done it before
Now today was early when I went on my way
Not feeling down in the mouth I’m heading South
Darkness lifts to reveal early morning mist
An I’m knowin’ where I’m goin’
Early start takin, means good progress makin’
No delay, McAllen less than 90 miles away
But now it’s time to make a stop for gas and a brunch break
111) The hotel I booked in, my room I looked in
Suitcase opened and in the closet hung
Some tee shirts I’d brung
Now I gotta go to East High at Weslaco
To introduce myself, read a poem an then some
An’ let the students know tomorrow there’s even more to come
112) Open night time to recite
Good and clear, been waitin’ all year
Now it’s go, let it flow. Keep in time maybe it’ll rhyme
Maybe it won’t, we don’t care if it don’t
Sun’s gone down insects bitin’
They won’t stop us from reciting
We’ll still give our best on opening night
