Trev does Texas again 2015: Austin to San Antonio
Image: Reciting at Sun Poets, San Antonio
22.04.2015 – 107) Austin Wildlife Rescue my last day
I’m here for the morning then I’m away
Like as such I’ll not take on too much
It’ wouldn’t be fun, leavin’ the job half done
So I’ll to the raccoon room head,
Get the little possums changed and fed
Takin’ pride, workin with care I’m doin it
The last time so I don’t want to ruin it
All fed some given a caress, now it’s goodbye an’ God bless
Headin’ South drivin’ down I – 35 to another town
New poems to write, new adventures to find
But I’ll always remember with love
Those of God’s creatures I helped an’ left behind
108) Headin’ for San Antonio listenin’ to the radio
One station gets dull don’t think “Oh brother”
Press the button find another
Then comes Thin Lizzy layin’ it down
One of their greatest “The Boys are Back in Town”
Knowin the words I’m singin’ along
Then I think maybe I could change the song
Make my own words fit, it may not be a hit
But I find, the chorus comes easy to mind
Spread the word around The Road Poets Back in Town
109) Motel found, downtown I’m bound
To the library a computer I’ll find
Catch up on all the news and views on facebook say what’s on my mind
When it’s done, back I’ll run
An’ take the time with good intent,
Deciding what to read at my next event
Sun Poets at Olmos Pharmacy, McCullough Street, it’ll be great to meet
Them all again after what seems a long time
An once again share our love of poetry and rhyme
