Despair - The Word

Despair, ironically the word
Where print before me or even heard
Can change the mood or shift the tide
Can leave my lips yet stretching wide

A rule so often among my prose
Concludes we all possess some woes
This word induces I to clock thee
A word perhaps intent to mock me

A hopeless word by definition
Discordant from my current condition
Can sometimes leave my concerns spilt
And leaving me with only guilt

For considering the phrase at first
When knowing that mine weren't the worst
The sulky, surly naracissism
That resides in every organism

Forgiven yet with due precaution
By our sometimes fatal empathetic portion
The two in constant competition
The victor differs with our disposition

The favourite obviously perceived
But which will leave our griefs relieved
Distraction remains, kept in our brains
But feeling is feeling other's pains

The word despair brings irony
So in this debate I finally
Discard the grief and woeful part
To begin again with a hopeful start

This is very beautiful, your writing style is complex and well thought out. It gives a better sense of what kind of writer I can be, and I admire your work.
