WHERE I LIVE
where I live lanes converge
and gravel bottomed
like dried up streams are unadopted
with their tiny plots laid at random
backs to sides cobbled up
slates with tiles, scowling porches.
all a - sloping with their underground springs
slipshod and tacky
homely and sought after
now that envious eyes are cast
and the boards go up, staked through
the heart of where I love.
Where I live
I bought the bricks the earth
the sky above and in that
gully kitchen cook
and my whole foundations shook
while eternity looked down on me
and in the beating heart of what I see
and where I live is where i'll be
where my lanes converge
and my gravel bed
will lie beneath
my spirits' tread.

Thanks Cynthia for the input. Where you live is important
and this is something you won't find on an estate agents flyer! cheers.
