Sometimes I stop and think to myself
Sometimes I stop and think to myself
"Why should I even bother?"
The faith I hold, it dwindles lately,
"Where do I go from here, father?"
But is there something we don't see,
Beyond the moon and stars?
The path we seem to follow most,
It leaves us hurt and scarred.
So why do we keep moving on
When this way brings us pain?
Or do we know of our reward
For enduring heavy rain?
We're told the end will hold the key,
the answers that we seek.
The end will solve our problems,
Giving strength back to the weak.
But herein lies a problem,
In every path, lies death.
So find your answers quickly
Before running out of breath.
The search will make you lose your mind
If you don't close your eyes.
Look deep down inside yourself,
And see past all the lies.
I'm terribly sorry, this feels like repeated thoughts, I started to hit a bit of a block in the last stanza, and I know if I try to come back to a piece at a later date, it just won't happen haha
