julia

all the baking hot pennies you pressed to your legs

the raw puckered flesh

(and royal reflection)

a punishment for things you never did

can be counted and changed

spent on a rocket ship

to fly around the sun

because on Tuesday night

you hit him back

now the storm has passed

and the world looks like your daughters green eyes

thanks martin! now i have the song circling my head too!

i did write something about (the nonexistant) julia a few weeks back but then the image of the pennies popped up (maybe i should be worried...) and they seemed to go well together.

At first when I read the title I thought it was about John Lennon's mother and had the song going round in my mind. But it is very effective both in it's delivery and impact . no longer holding back.
