only fond

I mustn't fall in love with you

but I can fall in fond

or maybe fall in very fond

but must not fall

I may not fall

I really can not fall

I should not fall

            head over heels

            head in the clouds

            off my head

in love with you

Dave, you may be new to the site but your stamp is made. The quality is unerringly maintained. Is this a new piece, or one well thought over for some time?

Hi Dave and thanks for the email. I do understand the difficulty and wish you luck.
I have been to the Bards once and went to the slam at Tallulahs recently. Also Wirral words.
Not sure when i'll go again though. Wigan is home for me. :-)

Thanks for your comment on my poem too and you're right, there is so much around us in every day life to write about. I like to make inanimate objects come to life, though i don't always fully succeed.

i love the poem , and from my point of view it shows the futility of even trying to
'only do fond' :)

I get a kind of wistful feeling with this one Dave.
As if you'd like to but daren't. Stay safe. :-)
Nice poem.

Hi Dave,
Enjoyed this - clever and so very true. Even - or maybe especially - the male of the species has precious little self-control when it comes to affectations of the heart. (Well maybe it's just me being a softie!)
Regards,
A.E.

That's a treat to read, Dave, Sweet but tinged with sadness ... or something.

I would second Francine with that. Such a lovely poignant poem and good that it comes from a man.
