The Mixture's right
If all I’ve done isn’t quite enough
But it’s enough for a shallow night
If tonight’s my last, it won’t be so tough
It’s fine because the mixture’s right
Three great notes, you kept in the back
They play now and you feel the same
As when all the trains were kept on track
And life was a winning game
A tiny window of time well spent
A pen to paper, a mind with sense
A naïve soul, a heart hell bent
On making something big commence
A contradiction that often shows up
With a Friday night and a sweetened cocktail
An inner nerve that suddenly blows up
To save the world or let if fail
A moment away and a room too quiet
But a mind-set you’d like to keep
But a realistic result to this diet
Is an unavoidable desire to sleep
If all I’ve done isn’t quite enough
But it’s enough for a shallow night
If tonight’s my last, it won’t be so tough
It’s fine because the mixtures right
