Uninvited guest

I have a little visitor

An uninvited guest.

He's clever and sly

Hard to catch with my eye.

He comes out in the dark

A mere shadow, so quick!

It's hard to tell

What mission he's on

When he scuttles around,

Silently but with purpose.

In trying to find

Where he's chosen to hide

It's a challenge too far for me!

I left him a note

A notice to quit

Three days he'd got

Before I evict

Or else..........!!!!

Now he's eaten my bread

And chewed on my chocs

Tomorrow I'll earnestly search

And if found he's in danger, a very real danger

Of finding himself dead!

So, little mouse

Heed my warnings to you

Pack up your suitcase

And find a new home!
