Trev does Texas yet again 2016: Austin 2
Image: Hippie Hollow 50 feet higher than last year as in poem 111.
18.04.16 - 108) Recycled Reads went well,
Thom an’ Ben would tell
Of those we met, from newcomer to vet
Made the Forrest Fest Come alive
How it should be with music dance and poetry
Then we read an’ let our words unravel, the story of our latest travel
Others read poems from the past
Experiences to make memories last
Then at the time I’m lookin’ Cos’ I got to get to my motel an’ book in
On the North side of town, an’ the rains still pouring down
109) Northward bound, motel found
Still rainin’ no complainin’ roof not leakin’ solace seekin’
Rest up a while then with a smile
Get out of bed, thinkin time to be fed
Evenin’ meal had weren’t bad
Coffee an’ a sit down rains still pouring down
Before day ends meet up with friends
Then back to the motel listen to the rain
An the thunders rollin, seems like the angels are 10 pin bowlin’
Listen and drift away, wakin up later to the dawn of a new day
110) To the AWR it’s still rainin’
Still the animals won’t be complainin’
As long as they get fed, fresh towels an’ paper for a clean bed
Madeline says “The possums you know what to do”
I’m thinkin “Yeah an watch the little guy in cage 22”
It goes grand, I lend a hand
When it’s done I’m away to enjoy the rest of the day
More moments in time to capture in rhyme
111) The road I follow to Hippie Hollow
The lake’s still clear, higher than last year
No mistakin’ photos ’I’m takin’ an’ the rains abatin’
Photos taken for back home to remember this part of my roam
Then there’s lightenin’ flashin’ an’ thunder crashin’
Once more the rain starts to pour
But I’m done for the day so I’m away
Drivin away the engine singin’
An’ I’m wonderin’ what tomorrow’ll be bringin’
112) Warning light on the dashboard says service needed
Warning heeded
Back to the car rental place to change
It for another car in the range
Now back on the road, compose another ode
Tour still on track, now time to hit the sack
19.04.16 - 113) Rain destroyin’ habitat an’ lair
Animals brought to where folks care
Lovingly tended, help rendered
Keep ‘em whole, body an’ soul
Guy brought in a grey fox what he said next was grand
“When he recovers they can release it on his land
114) Saw the baby grey fox this mornin’
In Hayley’s hands, quiet shy an’ yawnin’
One thing you couldn’t refute, the li’l crittur was kinda cute
Really nice to see
But nicer to see it being taken away to be set free
115) Got my second car and would soon know
No Country an’ Western music found on the radio
Preset buttons I’m pressin’ with it I’m messin’
Finally it’s on an’ I smile
Not what I wanted but it’ll do for a while
