USELESS HOPE

entry picture

The night sky, the blue satin sheen

One star greets another in recognition of a lonely friend

Perriwinkles on dew drops

Can you be mine ?

Crinkled bark on a sturdy tree

Waving grass and floating bee    dancing

For you and for me

Beyond the green haze

Of leaves and sun spray

Lies the heavenly hills

Of yesterday

Endless roads

Miles destroying

Catching lost awarenes

Of measured hopes, selfish loves

And lives possessed

Greedy man takes the biscuit

Falling short of generous gifts

And care and feeling

Flaying arms, senses reeling

Great dreamers are here again

Taking the place of lust and cruelty

and the fear of loosing

All hope may be gone but life carries on

Growing older day by day

How long for, no-one can say

All we can do is to hope and to pray
