Deafness
Shuffling your fumbling feet with your head to the ground
Looking lost in the crowd and surviving the band
Listening to banging but words falling deft stand
As the world continues to hear musical sound
Your ears hear the rumbling but can't phantom lyrics
As your heart understands that words have no meaning
It's shattered in pieces, the poet needs weaning
To digest this music and the proper civics
Wandering to the bar to find a distraction
Ordering a cold drink, he forgets his money
But a single stranger, offers up her honey
He says a big thank you, and her mouth extraction
Is just another sound, lost to his bleeding heart
His ears might never hear another's work of art.
