CHRISTMAS SNOW - a song for the Season.

entry picture

I understand that Sir Cliff hopes to return to his habit of releasing an annual festive season song in 2017.

In the meantime, here is my nod to a great time of the year, bringing together those who are absent

with their imaginings of home, family and friends at a precious time of the year.

My thanks to The Kingswood Sound for their enthusiastic rendering of my material.

Now sing along folks!

.............................................................

At home the Christmas snow is falling

I see it clear so far away

I hear the happy voices calling

See the children at their play

Every Yuletide brings its reason

To celebrate old ways before

Family gathered for the Season

Friends and neighbours at the door

Whatever in my life forsakes me

Wherever in the world I go

I bless this heart that always takes me

Home again for Christmas snow.

Inside holly round each doorway

Mistletoe as well there'll be

Bright-wrapped presents on the floor stay

Waiting underneath the tree

Outside church bells are caroll-ing

Soft flakes dust the things they find

And Christmas snow is surely falling

In many another far-off mind

Whatever in my life foresakes me

Wherever in the world I go

I bless this heart that always takes me

Home again for Christmas snow

At home the Christmas snow is falling

I see it clear across the miles

I hear the happy voices calling

See those dear familiar smiles

Every Yuletide brings new reason

To celebrate old days of yore

Family gathered for the Season

Friends and neighbours at the door

Whatever in my life foresakes me

Wherever in the world I go

I bless this heart that always takes me

Home again for Christmas snow.

Thanks, Harry. Good to know it brought you pleasure and
perhaps helped relieve some of the day to day concerns
that affect us all. I have considerable respect/affection
for the Christmas "standards" and it was with those in
mind that I decided to compose this annual approbation,
primarily with the situation faced by the men and women
of our dedicated armed and public services each year
uppermost in my mind.

M.C.

Just when I`m beginning to get all wrought up over the E.U.
you charm me with one of these...It`s not fair.

(lovely!...lovely!...lovely!...words and music)

JC - thanks. Considerate & courteous as always! I'm
thinking of posting the lyric as you suggest.
Ray - and thanks to you too. The song is intended to
the suggest the thoughts of those who can't be home
for Christmas and who conjure up the "ideal" scenario in
their imagination. The report about Sir Cliff was in a
recent copy of the "Daily Express".

Another excellent song, MC.
I do think you should have posted the words, if only to have enunciated the dexterity if the rhyming scheme.

Woe betide you if no snow at yuletide, Mark.

Joking aside, good on you for brightening up the firmament and dusting us with a feelgood factor.

I didn't hear that about Sir Cliff ; I hope the download comes with a free calendar. We can all sit around the Christmas yewtree.

Regards, Ray
