Christmas Cheer
Christmas is nearly here,
A season of good cheer,
And goodwill to all men
Flows so well from the pen;
But not so from the heart,
Where amity should start,
And in these festive times,
We still pursue the crimes
Of hunger, war and greed,
Though people are in need.
We feather our own nest,
To hell with all the rest
Too much “I’m alright Jack’,
Never gonna look back
To see what others lack,
When we take that next snack.
But if we look round first,
There’s kids dying of thirst,
While we enjoy a beer
As the big day draws near
For us to dine at ease,
And consciences appease
With Oxfam Christmas cards
For our Yuletide regards.
Well may you look chagrined,
We’re pissing in the wind.

True Trevor. If each of us touched the hearts of the those near us, and they did likewise, it would create a kind of collective consciousness that has its own power.
More light!
