A Profound Labyrinth
A Profound Labyrinth
A cavern dark and deep
in which there is no sleep
There are hidden places galore
into which one can soar
Very dim, with few lights
but inexhaustible megabytes
Within this amazing space
we need not hurry or race
It is the most incredible memory bank
a computer of the highest rank
Working to solve, ponder and keep
one´s personal history at a peep
It is encased in a dome like shell
with no sound its presence to tell
No two are remotely alike
each has its own particular psyche
Their maintenance is from regular use
but are equally open to much abuse
A labyrinth, a maze of wonder
its knowledge and depths to regularly plunder
From its depths books are written
and food appreciated when bitten
Inventions do occasionally occur
the genuis of others do earnestly stare
It sits at the highest point of the human frame
whether the body be fit or lame
Some are covered in curls of hair
whilst others are evidently bare
Ears, eyes and mouths do provide
a scope of information beside
Other senses are also at work
to feed the labyrinth of the dark
It can be an ally or even a friend
on this a lot does depend
Information absorbed is accepted or rejected
but seldom if ever neglected
It can be cogitated or held in abeyance
and even indulge in a seance
But most of all it is dark and deep
a treasure that needs no sleep

An eloquent and fascinating offering from and in tribute to the brain and a glimpse past the physical to the psychical,
altogether really well put together if I may say so Keith.
