The Essence of Forgiveness

 

A tree slowly reaching out

its fullness only realised in time

Maturity spurs it to perfection

found when its full glory is attained

So the source of wisdom grows

deep within the human soul

Growth often hard and rugged

can with a moral sense espouse forgiveness

The completeness of the human soul

is a tree of grace and beauty to behold

unfettered in strength, yet the child of obscurity

At the summit of perfection and fruition

the tree like soul is a generous host

Resentment and bitterness have long since departed

as the journey of life does carry on

Through these eyes so wide and clear

does the soul engender a new and vital spirit

One which has time to contemplate 

and become a new born empathist

Forgiveness rests in the shoes of another

from which to glimpse something of life´s malady

No longer witheld or grudgingly given

forgiveness is freely and openely bestowed

from a source which only wisdom knows
