LADY IN RED

(Unable to post an audio or pic on the iPad as I am on holiwags.  But it seemed there was an urgency to post this before she went!)

Never thought I'd see you look so weak and wobbly tonight,

Champion of the Right;

You look unstable.

Never thought I'd see your Party in disarray,

At odds with you, Mrs May -

A Tower of Babel;

You have never seemed so desperate

And in need of ugly friends

It seems to me -

The DUP.

Chorus

Lady in Red

You're still Party head,

Walking dead;

And though you can try

To keep it disguised

You're compromised;

Your ratings so low

Your duty's to go;

An ineffectual sight -

The way you look tonight.

Never thought I'd see that Jezza looking like a PM,

Mirroring dear old Clem,

A revelation;

Never though I'd see you squander a 20 point lead

There was no need

To poll the nation;

Now you need a coalition

But if you sup with Satan you will soon

Need a long spoon.

Chorus

Lady in Red.....

I always thought I'd see the mush of that Boris again

Plotting for Number 10

So brash and brazen;

But I never thought I'd see that greasy  little Michael Gove,

An oily tick but by Jove,

His gall's amazing;

I never thought I'd see young Amber,

Hammond, Hunt and Davis clamber

With his Brexit crew

To back-shaft you.

Chorus

Lady in Red.....

As many of my Leftie chums know, MC, I am no fan of Jezza. But he has proven me wrong. He lost, of course, but the momentum is definitely with him.

Reminders of PM Thatcher's back-stabbing cabinet's
sinister resemblance to the present bunch.
Trust JC to come up with a memorable LOL spot-on treatment.
But I'm not convinced that Germy Con-byn has the stuff
needed to be prime minister...recalling an observation
by an American politician at the time of the investigation
of communism in American public life - that there was
no point in trying to engage with them (communists) as
they had their rules and were only interested in following
them...whatever! That caveat niggles at my mind as the
"caring" image of the Labour leader is promoted by much of the media...shamelessly interviewing certain Tory names
from MT's era to comment on today's political situation.
The Iron Lady must be turning in her grave as efforts to bury Mrs May become all too obvious.

You're welcome, Keith. The lyric is mostly faithful to the fit of the structure of the original. Thanks for your kind comment.
