Love Of Summer
You may talk about the spring when all the world is new
Or autumn when the colours turn to brown
Then winter with its cold and stark monochromatic view
As the countryside puts on its snowy gown
But bringing forth the promises of warmth and hope and light
The season that for me outstrips the rest
With its burgeoning abundance that embody nature’s might
It’s summer that’s the time I love the best
When the scintillating sun is up there shining in the sky
To dapple gentle meadows through the trees
While the birdsong brings its warning when the kestrel hovers high
And vibrant blooms all bobble in the breeze
The firmament is freckled with cockades of wispy white
That slowly scud across the brilliant blue
And the rustle of the trees as if some solitary sprite
Was dancing to embrace the summer too
Though the winter has its wonders and the autumn colours please
And the spring may wash the winter blues away
It’s the smiling face of summer that performs its sorceries
To make me want to holler out hurray

Lovely this Trevor.
I can't wait for summer, I've seen enough snow for a lifetime.
Cheers Kevin
