THE BOY DOES NOTHING

entry picture

He surely must now feel the heat

Or is he just in self-deceit

He’s under pressure that’s a fact

And yet continues not to act.

For example, Livingstone

It’s been two years with nothing done

Even Momentum pressed

He’s facing such unrest.

Has he lost touch?

He never does much:

Is he just a

Bag of bluster

Is he in a

Frightened fluster

He does nothing

The boy does nothing.

Unless, MC, he is damned if he deals with anti-semitism (he's admitting there is racism in the Party) and damned if he doesn’t (he’s weak and tolerates it).

If any politician does nothing, it is most certainly due to
being in the wrong place or in the wrong mental state
since they are, as a breed, consummate meddlers and
interferers in the affairs of others and virtually incapable
of refraining from either activity.

Brian- It seems I’ve underestimated JC. He recognises that his masterly strategy of inactivity is a winner when he has always got Boris on his side!

John - If he went of his own accord now there is the risk that more than the required % of MPs won't vote in the nomination of the next left candidate, probably John McDonnell..so they want to keep JC in post until they can get sufficient leftie MPs in post.

MC - Cappucino socialism.
Brian - I think this anti-semitism thing has got him paralysed. If he deals with it, it’s an admission of racism in Labour. If he doesn’t it’s an admission that he tolerates it.

The way the labour party leader is now elected I foresee a line of left wing leaders which the public won't vote for. At some point the moderate labour MP's, many of whom will be de-selected in favour of Momentum candidates, will have form a breakaway party a la SDP to stand any chance of getting a socialist government.

It is to be hoped that he continues to do just that until the
Labour Party assumes its original aims and intentions to be
the political backbone of the working person. He. like
Livingstone, takes me back to the days of the CND et al.
I always wondered why these enthusiasts never went to
Russia to preach their message rather than stay at home
where society made it safe to speak out with such brave conviction.

Brian - I think JC is just starting to wake up.
Graham - militant Tendency can't believe their luck.
Trevor - I think the reverse. He is a man of principled ideology discovering that assuming power means compromising himself. It will come as a rude awakening to his doe-eyed followers.
At the minute he is paralysed in the headlights.

He's not alone. I've come to the opinion that by the time a young, idealogically driven politician gets to where he/she can actually influence stuff, they've become inured to the status quo, and can no longer summon the enthusiasm. And those who can still summon the enthusiasm just never get there.

He’s got more holes than a junk heap colinder.

At the end of the day he’s only the vehicle for the Militant Tendancy (sorry Momentum) to wheedle their insidious arses into some sort of influence.

Woe Jeremy Corbyn more like!
