'My' lavender
I am looking at you in my tiny back garden, planted when I first arrived at this place I now call home.
The sight of the worker bees filling their honey stomach from your bountiful blooms fills me with joy.
Your beautiful hue brightens the dreariest of days, and adds to the beauty of the sunniest moments.
The smell of your flower carries me to gentler, more peaceful planes where my mind can wander and return home in a more rested state.
My pillow holds your scent that sends my dreams beyond the worries of this world and into the universe of calm.
The brush of my fingers brings forth your fragrance and takes my thoughts to a better place.
I planted you in this ground, and you have grown strong and plentiful.
Thank you for planting these words in me.

Lavender is my favorite color, flower, and smell. Makes a wonderful tea my mom always called 'lucema'. Great poem Jon, I was going to write an anthology called 'My Lavender Rose', and think that the poetry boundaries are quite literally endless when dealing with such beautiful subjects. Unfortunately I wasn't satisfied with the result, so now I do pressed flowers.?
