I'm Watching My Mind Ride a See-Saw
I'm Watching My Mind Ride a See-Saw
I've got this Spike Milligan mind
You're beginning to see on your screen
A split second journey 10,000 miles
Extracted from where it has been
From source here, I see it on see-saw
It's Serious in charge, on the ground
While Comic's sky-high on the see-saw
But it's I who holds keys to this round
You mean don we can't play around?
See-sawing 'tween Comic and Serious?
You've unleashed us before, let us free
But this time you lock us, won't let us?
There's a place for you, Serious and Comic
I'm afraid that place's not here, and not now
I've keyed in the lock for you, Serious
You have work to do, I'll show you how
don, Serious here, what shall I tell them?
These minds from 10,000 miles away
Tell them I want intellectual interaction
Go tell them, go say what I say
Go tell them I think rather different
Go tell them I think rather strange
Go tell them some might think I'm way-out
Go tell them I think way off-range
But Serious ... yes?... I'm still here...
The question I keep asking myself
Asking myself as a writer
Does staying on-range as a writer
Does this make me any much righter?
I've listened don to what you say
A writer on-range can be right
But the off-range writer rights they can also
Be just as right as on-range rights

The dark humour of a disturbed mind and search for acceptance through laughter. A great poem capturing the see saw of the mind.
