A Family That Kills Together
A Family That Kills Together
In my hometown for near ten years
A team of father and son
Flew under the radar while committing
Drug trafficking, thieving, so on
It's now come to light they've been hiding
A more sinister secret than this
They're suspected of doing away with
Five men, giving each a death kiss
Why do I now write about dark?
When I've striven to write about light?
Perhaps 'cause to me it's important
To now write 'bout wrong and 'bout right
The father and son that I speak of
Were charged back in nineteen-ninety-nine
But the charges were dropped two weeks later
When witnesses would not toe the line
(they have never been re-charged)
The father is now in his seventies
The son, in his fifties, is jailed
Awaiting on trial for drug trafficking
While escaping murder charges, which failed
The police know the men, where they are
But their hands are tied, can't do a thing
In the meantime, through lacking in evidence
The father and son, laugh, live like kings

It is a cold case so who knows the background.? Agreed, children can follow the way of parents for good or bad. I think (?) they were charged with the murders but fell apart in court. Witnesses afraid of reprisals (?) Insufficient forensic evidence (?). In court it's a game being played between prosecutor and defence. May the best man win.
I don't like this analogy but it's true. Where's the justice in this ??
Putting a newspaper report into rhyme is not easy. You are restricted to words. Thanks for your encouragement
