MANDY O MANDY
Mandy O Mandy
are you woman or man?
Fifty fifty I would say,
do you have a plan?
I'm all at sea
you're just like me
with a woman's mind
in a strange and masculine territory.
I can feel a song coming on,
strange fruit,
an unaccustomed harmony.

I'm grateful for your robust and intelligent response David. This had no plan, just came roaring up from the subconscious. I don't let reason get in the way - but to respond, your first point is well made. The point about equality is obviously paramount, I think to some that is just a suspension of disbelief, which in itself is no bad thing!
Belief is after all the most dangerous of all flirtations IMO. I will just say we all have a mixture of whatever makes up the sexual identity, some conceal it, and some flaunt it.
I think I just liked that phrase Strange Fruit and nicked it.
It does imply to me a sort of desire to sample the goods, whatever they might be, whether mental or physical, both equally cogent.
Ah Nina ! I had to learn My Baby just cares for me years ago with its long solo, quite difficult, but not for her I reckon. Not that that's a particularly good example of her work. In the same way I was forced to play I Just Called to say I love you, to which with Stevie I would apply the same criticism.
Thanks for liking this Anya and Darren.
Thanks a lot . Ray
