I'm Skilling Up On This Difficult Genre
I'm Skilling Up On This Difficult Genre
Writing nonsense poetry's not easy
It takes a lot of time and great skill
It's not just like throwing words together
Like I'm Jack, and this is my Jill
You'll be pleased to hear I'm hard at work practising
My skill with this difficult genre
Fellow poets are giving me encouragement
With pats on the back and “good onya”

It isn't just a rumour -
There's a skill in writing humour;
For laughter has a range of causes
And there aren't any "get out" clauses.
So, be sure to be meticulous
When writing the ridiculous!
