Heartfelt Sorrow

Heartfelt Sorrow

At the age of nine years he was laid to rest

he had lived a good life and done his very best

The grave yard was full with people

standing in the shadow of the church steeple

His parents, brother and sisters with large family were there

as the small coffin was adorned with his teddy bear

There was not a dry eye anywhere to be seen

only stifled sobs and a heartbroken scream

A  brain tumour had claimed his little life

and removed him from this world of tears and strife

The commendation and final words were spoken

as handfuls of petals fell below as a loving token

No one could understand such a tragic loss

two hundred school children, his friends, were at a loss

No words could console or comfort them all

as one boy came forward and laid down his football

Unaware of their grief and terrible heartbreak

inside the coffin he slept unable to wake

Yet his grandmother smiled and looked above

because she knew he had now found true love

Yes, excellent Keith. I like your new style...is it permanent or perhaps you'll mix it up?
Either way I'm looking forward to future works.
