LEAVING HOME - a Saturday theme

Sometimes, it can seem

That life's just some scheme

Of glad meetings

And sad goodbyes:

Arms outstretched in warm welcome -

And the discreet dabbing of damp eyes.

But any future way in disguised display

That may be shown for us to roam,

Will never stay to disown that day

When we first left home.
