Perplexity

Perplexity

Are my tears those of repentance or sorrow

as they come from a well within

Their flow is incessant as I am drained

with thoughts and people now long past

I lack that spark of inner energy to begin anew

for I am overcome with a profound lethargy

I recline for hours to reminisce and ponder

the future seems imponderable and remote

Then a ray of light touches my soul

I respond to its warmth with renewed hope

A message through the darkness, of hope

my equilibrium is momentarily restored

I sit betwixt two poles of inner being

as scales which hold me in their balance

I rise and fall as moods prevail

for I am the prisoner of my thoughts

I can relate to every word Keith. It shines with a deep sadness, confusion, but hope born of our human condition..the inevitability of moving forward although perhaps without an initial purpose, but then a stillness a pause. Just wonderful...?

Puts words to a feeling that cannot be specified otherwise. This is so very comforting

This rings so true for me.

Thanks, Keith
