I discuss things with my dog

as we sit on the front porch

watching the vultures

makin lazy circles n the sky

the dog listens quietly

answers back with his eyes

he understands every word I say

and always goes along

the dog is always agreeable

knows me inside and out and

he don't complain about nuthin

I get a lot more out of him

than I did talkin to my ex wife

she used a lot more words

but didn't make any more sense

sometimes silence

means more than words.
