Avalanche Of Leaves

Leaves fall off my driveway tree

avalanche enough to bury me

Through tons of leaves I barely see

victim to the law of gravity

In aftermath of Winter's breeze

someone will have to rake these leaves

I am reluctant naturally

the rake is not my tendency.

Leaves leave their branches
yet I affirm
can't wait for springtime
to return
in the meantime raking
is my fate
for greener pastures
i can't wait.
