CONCORDE- Wordsworth would understand!

My heart leaps up when I behold

The Concorde in the sky:

So was it when my youth began;

So is it now I am a man;

So let it be when I grow old,

And let me fly!

This 'plane goes faster than a bullet can

And I would wish its days to be

Boundless - each graced by its high-flying "V"

Thanks, Brian. I recall one evening out cycling...crossing the Thames
in West London when the Concorde flew overhead like a great white
arrowhead...a marvellous thing to behold. If it wasn't for those
careless French airport maintenance staff leaving debris on a Paris
runway, it is likely that its impressive life would have been greatly extended, even though it's now said it was economically unrealistic
to keep in the air. But there WERE rich names keen to get
involved: Branson for one, if my memory serves me correctly.

Mark - I lived in Hayes Middx for half my life and often travelled from home to Hounslow via the Heathrow perimeter road. On one occasion around 1975 as I turned onto the road Concorde took off and the sight of it almost overhead took my breath away.
