Earning a Living
For a short period in our marriage of over thirty seven years I earned about two-thirds of the income.
I didn’t set out to do this it just happened this way. I was a Specialist in the Army. My husband was a nursing student and he was being helped to pay school and living expenses through the Veterans Administration.
My husband never complained or acted uncomfortable with this. Although at times I felt he thought he didn’t measure up. But we love and respect each other and this got us through.
We split up the chores of Child care and House duties. We never made each other feel inadequate.
My Husband and I are both veterans and our service has helped in later years with Health Care through the Veterans Administration.
My Husband has had a successful career as a Nurse. He will soon be retiring.
Through the rough times we never gave up on one another and we will celebrate thirty eight years of marriage this year.

A worthwhile reminder that there are lives well led that set a quiet
example for their restrained fortitude and determination to meet and
overcome life's obstacles. A most refreshing alternative to the
the moans and misery so prevalent these days. A salute is in order
and given!
