He stands so still

Like a real person

His presence so complete

His character so strong

Aged and tatty

He’s almost too big to contemplate

His head is on one side, to look at me

He has a kind face

Like a Martin Brothers’ oddity

But there’s no denying, he is unsettling

Nearly too big for my room

I hope we’ll be used to each other by the morning

But I don’t think he’ll be closing his eyes tonight. . . .
