My Family And Other Natural Disasters

My grandad was struck by a lightening bolt,
My grandma consumed by a whale,
My Great Uncle Barney died in a tsunami,
My Aunt Danielle in a gale.

My daddy was hit by a meteorite
My mummy went missing at sea,
My brother and sister were killed by a twister,
I wonder what's waiting for me.

An alien abducted my wife and her mother
And three or four first cousins too,
My nephews and nieces were torn into pieces
By tigers escaped from a zoo.

An avalanche did for my son and his lover,
My daughter skied into a tree,
My second wife, Betty, ran off with a yeti,
I wonder what's waiting for me.

Branwell you've no need to fret
Cos poets are protected by law
No alien grab or kill-virus jab
Awaits you behind your front door.....

I agree with Keith on this, a funny, very funny ride. And, yes, a bit of "The Out Of Towners" in this - Jack Lemmon & Shirley Maclaine! Great fun way to close out a day. thanks, Branwell.

Branwell,

Brilliantly funny with excellent rhyming. It reminds me of an old film called " The Out Of Towners" who on a visit to a big city fall into every calamity imagineable. Well done. A great poem.

Thank you

Keith
