A Follower’s Failure
Wished to be a follower
Of Shakespeare
But shaken
Having seen the Sphere.
Wished to follow
William Wordsworth
But could not keep
Neither words nor remained worth.
Tried to follow Byron
To acknowledge the ray-on
But only remained bare
To be inside the bar-on.
Tried to follow
William Long Fellow
Rather remained long away
Didn’t remembered for long nor follow.
When success
Kissed their feet
Failure hammered me
To tilt.
History adorned them
With golden letters
But neither could I add
Nor I could reach near.
All they won
And remained renowned poet(s)
But I failed
To face the ignominious fate.

You have created an excellent poem from your experience of exploring those writers so all is not lost.
