If Pessimistically Hopeful
If lights should smile from shadowed face
whose eyes were darker still
Would all not called to hallowed place
watch with breath and thrill
If from within an armament
A flower petals drawn
would that not be a silent hint
of sun before the dawn
if silence were the loudest cry
we ever wished to hear
would all the tears that never dry
lend to us all some cheer
if all treasures we ever lost
were gifts that no one gave
would we as pirates on ocean's tossed
sail on with hearts so brave
If all the heat from icy wind
were flames in glaciers blue
would smiles from faces gaunt and thinned
still sing our hearts as true
Even if endless front were back
and clouds were underground
would all that we have lost and lack
ever be truly found.

Thank you all for reading and commenting. I originally titled it "If... not that poem" similar to my "Goodnight Moon...not that book" of a couple days back but thought better of continuing in that vein...so will retitle it with your input.
