All poets really want
is a little encouragement
we need that kind word
any bit of praise
some encouragement
to continue
we need that connection
on the other end
wait for a response
anticipate reaction
without it
we are just lost words
fumbling for a phrase
hoping for a period.
You've been reading my thoughts friend....haven't you?
So true. And yet many of us are loth to give that feedback ourselves - I know I'm guilty of that!

I always enjoy the way you just so honestly express what everyone who writes poetry feels d.knape. I actually have lost lots of poems that 'visited me' because I thought ' who would be interested in reading or hearing it?' Lately I'm just writing them anyway!!
