Let’s go for one more ride,

Somewhere far away.

A calm and peaceful ride,

On a beautiful summer day.

 

Those moments were my favourite,

Outside, just me and my horse.

We could be gone for a few hours,

Never lost, just on a different course.

 

You could sense my mood from a mile off,

Literally right across the field.

You would play up if I things were on my mind,

The reasons soon to be revealed.

 

That was the joy of being with you,

I could not stay cross or mad.

An intuitive creature, who knew me so well,

You’d show me that things weren’t so bad.

 

You left my life so suddenly,

I never got to say goodbye.

It hurt so much for such a long time,

Sometimes I still think and cry.

 

I had so many wonderful years,

Memories I will cherish forever.

I am just being greedy, by wanting lots more,

Me and you, always and ever.
