Windows at Horsehold
Peering through the cracked window panes of the old farm cottage Spider webs, thick dust powdering a single light-bulb held on its old cotton flex Next door a window overlooking the yard displays a notice Eggs for Sale Framed by two ginger cats, tails in the air watching us passing The farmhouse boot scraper positioned outside the stout wooden door Drying mud in the grids Wide open at this time giving a view of drying clothes on a creel Crackling fire visible in the kitchen grate even though it is supposed to be spring A Walkers are Welcome window sticker catches our eye We stop to buy some eggs, a dozen mixed free range Paying at the Honesty box. The Cats supervised the transaction Receipt given Using Tail Semaphore We continued our walk down the cobbled lane into the town Supper sorted.

Great picture of an amusing stopover. The muddy grids of the scraper sound very familiar. You can see how long ago it was used, according to the dampness/dryness of the mud. Loved the tail semaphore too!
