Hello, here's my poem from Monday.

If you keep my candle lit
you'll see all I have to show
the future of a blazing light
casting its mark and leaving a shadow
a row of bright flames
keeping all memories warm and golden
with a continuation of them
if many days are allowed to come

they can give a chance
to reflect and project
signalling their voices
and their outlet
which helped the flame grow
and ignite the clouds of smoke
dancing around the room

Without it lit
the past days spent
would have sunk
into melted wax
leaving mist not clouds
but smoke fading the hot into cold
and every night would be extinguished
and you would only be left
to gaze into darkness
for what was once so bright
is filled with complete blackness
as the candle lights would fade
one after the other

Peter explained to everyone that all normal channels to cut costs had been attemped by himself.

He asked the group if we could come up with any ideas that we thought might help, he said he would do his best to see if these could work before any final decision is made by the council.

I thought the meeting went very well and felt he had given us a platform to help towards solving the problem rather than just oppose him and the council.

Peter Ashworth who is Head of Cuture @ Leisure for Stockport Council has agreed to come to our next meeting on Monday 12th November.

He will give a ten minute talk on the present situation and will answer any questions we might have.

So get your thinking caps on everybody and fire at will I mean Peter!

I have just completed my 'Stockport Museums and Cultural Attractions' questionnaire. The main thing to remember is that you use the Gallery over four times a year and never visit Stockport's museums, Bramhall Hall or the Air Raid Shelters - ;-)

We could get a group of say twenty fit members

In the Manchester Evening News on Saturday
Stockport Council are looking at ways to save money this is one of them.

Nothing has been decided yet but sometimes they do this to see what the responce is from the general public.

It was reported in Saturday's Manchester Evening News.

The Art Gallery might have to close in the daytime - - - only opening at weekends.

We meet up every second Monday of the month at the Art Gallery.

This might not effect the various groups like us that use the Gallery.
