About Us
We read and discuss our own poetry from both the technical and creative perspectives. Our unusual speciality is the group's collage poem, created at every meeting. All our collage poems can be seen on the right. We usually have a theme for each month. Reviews of our meetings can be viewed here: http://iambics.wordpress.com/
What we do

Well done everybody who attended and read, particularly to Linda for organising the event. I am proud to be associated with a such a fine body of fellow poets. sad I could not be there to support you in person. See you tomorrow.

Hi everyone! - Someone wrote a while ago about Work Town who were asking for submissions. I cannot recall who it was, so am asking whoever it was if it's a "reputable" organisation? (I must be getting more suspicious in my old age hey!) Thanks! - Dorinda x
ps: Nigel - Next time we're filming I'll bring the eyeliner!!! x
Count me in Dorinda!
Needs more make up Nigel
Hi All! Just heard that our filming didn't quite work out as planned, but there is a offer to go again and read our own work. I have replied to Ant to say I would love to! Anyone else interested? - Dorinda x

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to say I had a ball on Saturday, it was an excellent event. I tried to load photos onto this page, but they went on my profile page instead - plus half of them are sideways (they were the right way up on my phone)!
I should have asked your permissions before posting them, so if anyone doesn't like their pic, please let me know and I'll take it down. I personally think you are a handsome / gorgeous lot and gave a completely professional performance at the Gallery.
Mark and Deborah have posted on social media over the weekend and were more than happy with the day. Katherine Rossetti was also very pleased with how popular the event was and thanked us for our time and support.
Good times!
I look forward to Randy's Poetry Trail Open Mic on Wednesday and hope to see you there.
Nic
A message for Andy Millican: I learned from Nicola last night that you're looking for poems about autumn, maximum 20 lines: I'd love to write something for this. Where should I send it, please? (please don't say the bin!!!)
Thanks, Dorinda x

Hi John
Mark Sheeky Poem: think I'm supposed to send it to you:

She’s cold.
She’s almost drowned out the sun with
her tears; they did not stop for days:
see that sun almost falling from the sky!
The black menace in the corner is
a frightening reminder of her
desperate journey.
The sea was cold.
Yet…
It is still the same sun
and it hasn’t fallen from the sky.
And she sees the flowers
and she loves their vibrancy.
They are from the earth and she
is on that same earth, and
not on the leaky boat now.
She takes the mug of tea
from the kind lady.
She is safe.
Part of her aches for happier
yesterdays.
Her youthful, aged heart sighs and
begins its crippled recovery
towards a slowly blossoming
new hope….
