The Evo’s Gift - Forgiven Sin

The resounding sins, of

many echo through

their etheric karma

manifesting the

good intentions, of

Personal Truth

at the end of the day the air waves:

find their way back home,

when the sun goes down, and

the lights go out at night

lightning never strikes the same place twice

however, once in a while you wonder…How?

In the world we live in —

Merry Grinchmas To Y'All.

The tree is man-made, the gifts are fake,

The carols make my stomach ache.

I hate the crowds, the forced-up cheer,

The noise that fills this time of year.

The sales are loud, the hype is worse,

Everyone's lost in some gift-giving curse.

The cookies? -Too sweet! The songs? -A "bore"!

I’d rather be locked behind my door.

So skip the cheer, and ditch the mess,

I’d...

CHRISTMAS BUSTLES

It's almost Christmas,

It's snowing and snowflakes twirl in the winter sky.

My roof has caved in, a heavy sigh

As beams and rafters begin to cry.

It's raining and there's fog in the distance,

The rain is a gentle patter on windowpanes,

And from my window, I see lights twinkling on and off inside the fog,

Each blink a whisper, a light in the heart.

It's a sight to behold ind...

The missing shorts

Putting the flash into flash fiction for this festive poem!

Boxing day

A day of cheer

Till his lucky boxers

Disappear

A desperate search

Both high and low

He can't back down

Nowhere to go

The fight draws near

The crowd awaits

Without his shorts

It's left to fate

He's fearing failure

Doubt creeps in

Without his shorts

How can he win?

A Christmas Bauble

🌟

I

Smile

In dreams

Of Christmas past.

That rosy glow we thought

would last. A sprinkle of wonder

In wide-eyed bliss. Mistletoe hanging

For a virgin kiss. We believed in magic for

A little while. Such sights & sounds sent to

beguile. If only we'd kept it in a little box, to

 open

when

Age

Tick  tock

Tick tocks

Believe

Believe

What

is the

reason for

the season? Why

do we celebrate

the date a child was born?

Perhaps... as a reminder

We have a chance for redemption

If we open our hearts to believe.

Festive fog

When I was young, it made sense

The lights, the candles, the innocence

Misty eyed, fretting with excitement

I feel like now, I knew what it meant

Memories like a radiant dream

With all the colours in a warm stream

Images flicker in the fog of now

Like a scared and lost dessert cow

Golden sights and sounds

Chopping Brussles to a ground

Presents wrapped with a...

Christmas

The Christmas feeling

Every year, around this time

A certain feeling swells of mine

Like a rugby ball stuck in the gut

A Christmas shell explodes and cuts

December 1st, plan a list

Of all the things you hate entwined

Gifts, toys, you know the score

Dec 12th, what a bore

Surely music can help bring the feeling

But a random playlist leaves me reeling

Old crooners return to haunt

Christmas

End of Shift (A Christmas Tragedy)

Tears

Trickled

        Down her cheeks

        At the sight of

               The empty stocking,

               The house, unvisited.

                      While, next door, Father Christmas

Looked at his watch, zipped up his bag

And roared home for breakfast in his Jag.

Reverse-Word NonetChristmas

In golden light

The streets of the past have a golden hue

Known to only me and you

Forgoing the shy starlight

A golden youthful yellow delight

The nights were littered with gold

A yellow wind left to behold

Sunlight at night

What a golden honey sight

People, cars and dogs

Streaming through a yellow fog

Christmas fairs and hot chocolate

A warmth and love now forgot

20th December and the lights are down

Expectance in abundance

As we look around

No tinsel or snow

No time to let go

Too tired and small

No feeling at all

They say he’ll be here soon enough

Yet time will soon have had enough

But we must be ready and not wither

The time is now, we must deliver

Yet who will come I ask?

It isn’...

It’s Christmas in the Asylum (belated version)

This poem is based on a story which appeared over Christmas, and which was taken to be true!

AWOL = absent without leave

The Christmas gammon have gone spitting mad,

they think asylum seekers are going AWOL

for Christmas: yes here in the UK it’s that bad,

with nothing around here but strife and trouble,

that’s why those “foreigners” want to go home!

Gee Beebie News are ha...
