Light that brings me home

With a warmth inside I'm heading home.
Shadows fall as I walk into the dark,
slowly losing the sight of my goals.
Alone, I have killed the sun,
now even the moon fears me.
No one by my side,
getting ready to give up,
I stopped,
opened my eyes,
I saw a light that was running towards me.
Soon a relaxing laugh followed,
in my mind it was hallowed.
The light shone brighter and brighter,

Love me this way, if you love me too

Often have seen you stuck
Amid being smart and schmuck
Here’s my answer to how should you?
Love me this way, if you love me too

Wake up with me at the dawn-break
Yawn, smile and kiss my forehead
Wish a good morning before I do
Love me this way, if you love me too

Avoiding me is a gross mistake
In a quick second, respond me back
At least twice a day, say “I miss you”
Love me this way...

P.O.M.

Their fire is not seen for miles;

Blazing,

Roaring,

Silent, but ferocious.

They are brighter than what catches the eye.

They will be able to burn forever.

They just need their match to ignite.

Can't stop thinking about you

A year has gone by,
yet I still try,
I try to reach you,
I try to touch you,
still every attempt is a fail.

Your eyes used to be the light,
your smile used to be the way
your laughter used to be inspiring.
Now your absence is my suffering.

I endure only pain,
happiness I no longer gain,
beauty I no longer see,
I'm drowning in misery.

As days go by,
we grow apart more and more,

World based on lies is not what we enjoy

Why are we such cowards,
afraid to admit our feelings,
or just to say what's on our minds.

Why do we keep hiding behind masks
thinking that we are protecting the future,
always ending up as our dream's butcher.

How are we not tired of telling lies,
running off in secret playing spies,
to end up finding that love is what everyone wants before they die.

Waiting In Brooklyn

Balancing my brains with bourbon in some back-ally Brooklyn bar
nighthawks that had lost hope looking for the diner, perched in a meticulous row like tin ducks on a crooked shooting gallery on Coney Island

Dream State Of Mind

Maybe this is a dream
All I know is I don't wanna go back to reality
A cotton-candy blue and pink sunrise, a beautiful color scheme
Everything's sweeter here, I'm oblivious to my problems and I'm carefree
Laying under a bridge, graffiti tags, remnants of troubled soul's past, lit by a sunbeam
In front of me, I see water blue as the baltic sea

Last Night You Held My Skin Between Your Fingertips

Last night you held my skin between your fingertips;
You washed slow kisses upon my parted lips.
Last night you drew circles across my across my thighs, upon my naked knee;
And gave your closeness to me.

Last night you left lotus-marks upon my throat,
Your eyes seethed against mine, where I had grown remote.

Horrible Bliss

Very surely I’ve been remiss
To imagine you, darling, like this!
Oh, the melded hours have cruelly conspired
To strand me in ecstasies of longing—which I so desired!—
To abandon me to oceans of thoughts of your kiss—
It’s a breathless caress, plunged in the shuddering abyss;
Oh, darling, what bitter elation—what horrible bliss!

I’ve made lists which contain nothing but your name!

The Fish

The other night I dreamt a strange dream of a fish that I’ve been thinking about ever since
What follows below are the events.

The fish was long and silver and it lay in my arms swaddled in cloth like a child
(The fish had no name).
And though I was repulsed by it I felt deeply that it needed affection, and
Perhaps I needed the same.

So I held the fish in my arms and though it did not sp...

Tonight

I've never seen this look in your eye,

It's over, finally, it's over

And we hold that truth deep inside

So tonight,

Hold me tighter than you ever have,

Kiss me sweeter and love me harder.

And we will cry,

But it's ok.

We're not broken,

And even if we are,

From tomorrow on, I'll carry every piece of us With me in my soul.

So give me one last memory,

Tonight.

Please Don't Grow Up

We all couldn't wait

To grow up, to get out

To fully understand

What the world was about

Only to find

On the other side

The beauty we saw

As a child, had died

The day turned to night

The blue turned to gray

The innocence of life

Had faded away.

So many dreams

Now seem cast down

Remember when difficult

But back again, again she comes,
Her velvet collisions dress the air,

As a poet I ought

yet my rhymes are a crime

Is it because I have too little time,

along with a helpful helping of ‘artistic license’

with the vain hope that everything – so...

Your eyes make me feel warm and wet

Your hands make my body shiver

Grinding against me makes me sweat

Guiding me to the rhythm

with your hips pressed on mine

Your eyes make me hot

Your lips taste like chocolate

Your smile, full of promise

Images flashing through my mind

Soft skin on mine

Hands on my breast

Lips on my legs

Boy, you make me ...

Stand at attention

sir yes sir

you are worthless

run till you puke

you aren’t even human

wool uniforms in the dog days of summer

we are gonna make men out of you

crying is for the weak

pain is fear leaving the body

spit shined shoes and foot lockers

made beds and floors you can eat off of

your mama can’t save you

you're a plebe

Thursday, Pt.2

The Prelude to the weekend

where people drink till the wee hours of the night

hoping to finally take flight away from the stress of the past three days.

Knowing that these moments never last forever

that is why families stay tighter than leather.

fly under any weather.

Distance is obsolete when it comes to this family

varying directions we may be in our lives,

yet when we r...

Dog

Paws and snouts and whiskers and drool

And muscle and fur and eyes so sharp, kind and cruel

And light and strong and high in their jump

And eager and always hungry and always looking for more

And sleek and shiny and fast and then still

And smelling and sniffing and pushing and tearing

Playful and wanting and watching and rolling

And laying and nestling and warm and smelly

PAUL KANTNER

PAUL KANTNER
(1941-2016. Jefferson Airplane)

Don’t you want…

Something different from those straight singers,
Fresh faced kids in suits or beach wear;
Something better than a Willy Loman future,
War in Vietnam and conscription;
Soldiers with guns on campus
And the politicians
The ones you wouldn’t…

Somebody to love…

Yeah she was a banker’s daughter
Oh man, but her voice
Wa...

What Are the Different Types of Love Poetry?

We generally write love poetry to convey love which is experienced in different relationships. This includes romantic love, both unrequited and enduring, and love for a sibling or a parent can be expressed with love poems. Great poets have also used short true love quotes and poetry to express their emotion towards the great outdoors or a lovely pet. Love poems also might include a sonnet or rhyme...

Maybe Two

Maybe two

I’ll admit

I create stress for myself

even on vacation

I’m working on it

“simmer down” they say

Am i that bad?

even the pope takes an angry shit right?

everyone has to worry about something

nothing but truth,

I’m not comfy unless I worry

I envy those who walk without baggage

how do they do it?

I can make it a day

maybe two

then she scr...

Tired.

Every day I wake up

Shake off the cobwebs

Stretch up skywards

Lay back down

Every day I make up

New reasons to have one

Two or three and then some

Never question why

Every days a struggle

Energy eludes me

You can see right through me

But the thing is I don’t care

Every day I look in

The mirror for my manners

My sallow skin remembers

Every...

The army and fucking

The army and fucking

Folks just need to know

The army will get you shot

Why the confusion?

Commercials don’t impress me

guns are loud, and blood is depressing

héros are human

bullets are real

Life is a deep breath you don’t wanna lose

young men with no options

thanks for your death

I can buy contraception

from a man from a country who shot you

I s...

Darts, endless darts

a passion I never desired

guitar and words don’t heal the soul

no such luck for darts

I saw a blonde haired woman in a van today

I needed cigarettes and human contact

Thanks to her for making my drive

I suspect she will stay in my mind all day

What if she had car trouble and broken dreams?

More importantly: who...

A poem for Ashraf Fayadh

Saudi courts, your rule of fear is finished
- the sentence on this poet negates your faith.
Your hollow incantation "God Is Great"
is plainly false if God can be diminished
by lines of verse. Should murder be admonished
to Ashraf Fayadh, forevermore his fate
will hold as evidence that you're afraid
of poetry. Frankly I'm astonished:

astonished that a land so steeped in culture,
in li...

A Winter's Walk In The Park

Sickly branches spread out from the bodies of comatose trees,
And her feet fall on leaves that have died,
Paper-thin corpses at one with the ground frost,
With each step she feels that she might,
Fall through the earth and plummet for years,
Leaving Welsh winters behind,

Crystalline grass blades stand neatly under silver pink skies,
She follows where the gravelled path snakes,
Her concer...

First posting

Was feeling emotionl and wrote this, it felt good.

London

When your thoughts run away with you,

The thoughts of what could have been run from you,

Regrets, false memories just out of reach,

The power of imagination is pain,

The power of emotion pushed us to change.
