Whatever you've done today

It doesn't matter now, the sign states

its time for a parade 

for the tiny tippy tappers to escapade

 

You've seen the sights

Blinded by all the flashing lights

You've filled the senses with a pungent repulse

Tollerated the tube and the intolerance

 

Now you're back to the place of dreams

Where walls and ceilings go bump in the night

Written while on a coach holiday in Torquay, listening to a couple of old dears...

 

We've been traveling since dawn

The coach isn't warm

And then catastrophic

We ran into traffic

The food, it was cold

It's because we are old

Though I may have been late

But I don't like to wait

It drives me so mad

That they treat us so bad

Look on us in judgement

A balcony squashed between

Modern monstrosity

Pushing up seeking the sun

As we seek solace

In this anonymous city

 

I liken your wasted mind

To that corner pub

Dark panelled wood

Etched and knocked with emotion

Holds history behind

I look up

Diamond light falls downward

The mist stills time

And I catch you

Clasp the love

Wistful and listless

Naked, exposed and alone

Arms holding knees with unease
