You promised me your mind
Then you turned your head
All your thoughts were locked and the communication went dead
You promised me your heart
Then you took it away
Leaving me listening to your pulse as it faded away
You promised me your love
Then you kept it all to yourself
Leaving me wondering if you wanted someone else
You promised me a new life
Then you lived yours ...

Defaulted Love
It’s a relationship by default, you were not the first choice
Had she stayed with him and laid with him, had she never used her voice
You would be silenced, a person whom could never exist
A steel picture on the wall waiting for a frame to assist
The beauty that lies in you is hidden away from the world
Kept away as a secret knowing you could never be his girl
You will never hold...
