Can't really argue with that.

It reminded me alot of Four Thirty Three by John Cage....not that I'm suggesting it's derivitive or anything...it just had that essential 'quietness' at its centre.

I think if you let Chris Co and Steve Waling into the topic, you may find that an argument can be formed on this Discussion
:-)))

Oh you little monkey Steve - there you go again, sticking your head over the parapet - there's no stopping you now. I'd best shut up - I'm in danger of turning the site into a social one rather than a heavy weight poetry one. WB Yeats - yes, I knew him well.... Best go and read a few and form an opinion - is he part of Gus's gang?

I will arise and go now . . . .

Hmmm. This could be sinister. The only two clues are the title - W B Yeats (known for his interest in fairies, the supernatural etc) and Iuean's picture. The photo is of someone on a rock known as the Cantilever which is on Glyder Fach in Snowdonia - been photgraphed on it myself. It must be the most photographed rock in Wales.

Anyway, if you Google W B Yeats and Glyder Fach, what comes up first - Aleister Crowley! The master of the dark arts (well if he's to be believed, he was)

I need to get out more.

Has Yeats posted on this site?

Not recently. I think he left after getting a good slagging for offering an opinion. Apparently he didn't tread softly enough on someone's dream.

Do you really have to trail your baggage round with you to every discussion thread you join? I think it's time to put that one to bed John....

Isobel, you disappoint me....it is a beautifully crafted WB Yeat's joke...'tread softly', geddit?

So, there's no room for humour here now? Words fail me.

I think I will go and get a life....somewhere else.

I'm splitting my sides laughing John - cos words never fail me - but obviously, such very subtle humour does...

''...I will arise and go now . . . .'' portentous twaddle.

re David B. ''It must be the most photographed rock in Wales.''...I thought that was The Manic's!....I'll get my coat...

You do that Tommy....it's obviously Dave Edmund's Rockpile!

PS Isobel, that's a skilfully crafted Welsh music joke....just in case you are offended.

Shucks you've rumbled me John. I'm an easily offended, thick dame with no sense of humour....and there was I thinking I'd fooled everybody. I'll let you have the last word on this one - it seems to mean a lot to you and I've no intention of batting this one backwards and forwards any further. Be sure of one thing though - I never take my ball home.
